Data has developed its Lumber Supply Application to handle the additional
functionality required in selling and remanufacturing lumber to the construction
supply market. Since lumber is easily remanufactured to change one product
into multiple others and may be cut into numerous dimensions there are
obvious inventory control problems which must be dealt with. Lumber may
also be purchased by the truckload with undetermined quantities of various
lengths at the time of the purchase order. This software is a superset
of the Construction Supply application and also handles:
- Linked items for lumber of various lengths, but otherwise the same (used for tally box entry)
- Board foot pricing and costing
- Linear foot pricing
- Pricing by tally box for multiple lengths for sales orders
- Costing by tally box for multiple lengths for purchase orders
- Entry of manual sales order numbers from pre-printed order forms
- Remanufacturing tally box entry to relieve and increment inventory quantities
- Void Order Maintenance and an Unused Order Report assist in the control of voided manual order forms
